Sizing is a very complex subject. Sizing agents are an important group of chemical additives in the production of paper, and they can only be investigated superficially within the framework of this short treatise. Sizing agents account for 25 % of total chemical additive consumption (Fig. 1). The consumption of the various different sizing agents as a proportion of total Consumption is shown in Fig. 2.
