Role of IPST in the Quality Evaluation of Paper Properties, 1992 Process & Product Quality Conference Proceedings
The Institute of Paper Chemistry was founded in October of 1929 as a singular alliance of higher education, science, and industry. In 1989 the institute was moved from Appleton Wisconsin to Atlanta Georgia, and its’ name was changed to the Institute of Paper Science and Technology (IPST).
The Institute is an independent privately funded graduate research university. Its purpose is fulfilled through three missions, which are:
1. to provide high quality students with a multidisciplinary graduate educational experience;
2. to sustain an international position of leadership in dynamic scientific research;
3. to contribute to the economic and technical well-being of the pulp and paper industry through innovative educational, informational, and technical support services.
These missions are supported by the singular relationship which has existed between the Institute and the industry for more than six decades.
The Institute is known worldwide for its testing, information, professional, and technical services.
