An effective program of maintenance and calibration for the Print-surf tester is essential to obtaining consistent and accurate smoothness measurements. The sensing head is the most likely source of error due to the fine openings and surfaces. Calibration films can also be misleading if not handled properly. Collaborative testing is useful for monitoring agreement among Print-surfs distributed among mill and corporate laboraties.
