My TAPPI Story: McKenna Goulette
M. Rao, Q. Wang, Y. Shu, Y. Ying, K. Mo
This paper first discusses five questions: (1) Why should we use ISO 9000 international standards? (2) Why should we develop electronic files using the hypermedia technology rather than paper files? (3) Why should we develop knowledge-based quality management systems ? (4) Why should we use real-time on-line intelligent management systems for quality assurance, and (5) Why should we develop integrated distributed intelligent management system for on-line real-time applications. Then we present an INTElligent Management system for On-line Real-time applications (INTEMOR) developed by the intelligence engineering laboratory at the university of Alberta. Finally, two applications of INTEMOR in pulp and paper processes are discussed.
