Instrument Data Quality: Design and Software Considerations, 1995 Process & Product Quality Conference Proceedings

G. A. Hagerty

Hagerty Technologies, Inc.

The manufacturer of a test instrument has substantial control over the quality of the test measurement data that his instruments generate. While the end user has a responsibility for the proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of the instrument, the manufacturer can make those tasks easier and more logical. When a considerable amount of time and money is spent on the storage and retrieval of measurement data, the quality of the measurement data is of paramount importance. This paper will discuss the design and software considerations that influence instrument performance.
