This paper discusses the use of the U.S. Forest Products Laboratory’s Image Analysis Protocol (IAP-1) as a means of evaluating the effectiveness of the various contaminant removal processes used in a pilot plant trial. The protocol itself is outlined and its use described. The trial plan and objectives are described and related to how the testing protocol was used in the evaluation of the trial results.
