My TAPPI Story: Rory Wolf
TAPPISAFE
K. Watanabe, Y. Nanri, T. Shimohira, M. Shimizu, T. Andoh, S. Mikoshiba--The white liquor (WL) electrolytic processing is a very effective polysulfide (PS) cooking liquor generation method based on the technology of electrolysis. PS density so generated is necessarily higher than PS come out of the air oxidation method, because such side reaction as converting PS into Na2S2O3 is not observed. As presented at the last session, both of higher improvements of total yield and kappa number reduction are obtained by the combinatorial usage of the electrolytic processing and the modified cooking (MC) process. By making use of by-products such as NaOH and H2 gas, the self-sustained total effluent free pulping process may be realized.
