New Filter System for Filtration of Green and White Liquor, 1992 Pulping Conference Proceedings

A new filter system for filtering of white and green liquor in the chemical recovery system of a kraft pulp mill has been developed. The system has the advantage of being a continuous processwith few mechanical moving parts. The chemical loss with the filtered mud is low, and the closed system prevents oxidation of the liquor.

Trial runs with a mobile pilot unit in two Scandinavian pulp mills have given very good results.
