Enerbatch^R - Kraft Pulping Process - Progress in Pulp Uniformity and Extended Delignification, 1992 Pulping Conference Proceedings
ENERBATCH^R is a low energy, batch kraft pulping process, producing pulp of high uniformity, extremely low screenings - higher yields for a given Kappa number, improved fiber characteristics and is a natural for extended delignification.
Using high pressure impregnation of wood chips with white liquor, alkalinity is increased into the core of the chip.
The particular displacement technology for the ENERBATCH^R-process has been developed in VAI’s pilot plant and ensures optimum process control, high black liquor solids concentration and substantial energy savings.
The possibility of extending delignification without reducing fiber characteristics results in significant savings of bleaching chemicals.
The first industrial application and pilot plant operations with extended delignification are presented.
