Continuous On-Line Analyzer for the Optimization of Hydrogen Peroxide Usage in Bleaching and Deinking Operations, 1992 Pulping Conference Proceedings
The increased use of hydrogen peroxide in the pulp and paper industry makes it increasingly necessary to find methods to optimize the dosage of this chemical.
This desire has partly been limited by the lack of reliable hydrogen peroxide sensors.
A reliable continuous on-line analyzer for controlling H2 O2 residual levels has been developed. Based on long term commercial operation in swimming pool applications, the analyzer has proven to produce accurate information and to require very little maintenance.
Field trials of the analyzer in deinking and chemical pulp bleaching operations have been shown to give a reliable continuous output of the hydrogen peroxide concentration, even after continuous sample pretreatments like filtering and dilution. The device is seen as a useful tool for optimization of hydrogen peroxide dosage in these and other types of applications.
