Ozone Bleaching of Recycled Paper, 1992 Pulping Conference Proceedings
The paper industry is forcing a rapid and large evolution as more and more recycled fibers will be used in the coming years.
This requires new and more efficient technologies to be developed especially for the production of high quality deinked pulp.
This paper deals with alternatives that ozone can offer as a bleaching agent as well as a very strong oxidizing chemical which are:
1) a direct replacement of chlorinated chemicals like chlorine and hypochlorite.
2) an improvement of existing bleaching technologies.
