My TAPPI Story: McKenna Goulette
The use of post consumer OCC fiber at Longview Fibre Company has been a success since the spring of 1989. Design, construction and start-up of two 230 ADMT systems was a challenge. With new technology in OCC recycling equipment and the desire for a better quality pulp, modifications in process flow, screening, cleaning and reject handling have been made. Most of these changes have lead to significant improvements in process control and pulp quality. Machine production constraints due to pulp mill production limitations have been alleviated as well as producing a lower cost furnish and running an environmentally friendly process.
