High Consistency Ozone Bleaching Technology, 1993 Pulping Conference Proceedings

A survey of data from the literature is given in order to compare medium and high consistency ozone stages. The comparision is made with regard to the mass transfer processes, the ozone consumption, the selectivity and the carry over of COD.

Tests with the high consistency ozone stage aimed at investigating the optimum parameters. Data are presented about the speed of the reaction, the correlation between viscosity and strength properties for ECF and TCF pulps, the influence of the dynamic and the static reactor as well as the influence of temperature and of closing the water loops.
