New Kinetic Model of Chlorine and Chlorine Dioxide Bleaching, 1993 Pulping Conference Proceedings

A new kinetic model of chlorine and chlorine dioxide based on the assumption that the chemical reactions are rate determining is presented. The model predicts the Kappa number (or brightness), pH and effluent composition. Application of the model is demonstrated by optimizing the chlorine/chlorine dioxide charge distribution between two mixers in a prebleaching stage.
