Role of kenaf as fibrous rawmaterial for manufacture of pulp and paper has been discussed in detail by a number of authors. However, little could be achieved about its commercial exploitation due to various techno-economic reasons. Phoenix Pulp & Paper Co.Ltd, Thailand which started the use of kenaf first time in 1981 for commercial production of market grade pulp continues to use this as one of its main rawmaterials.
