An improved oxygen delignification system with increased selectivity has been developed where pulp is treated with small amounts of peroxymonosulfuric acid (Ps) between two oxygen stages. However, commercially prepared peroxymonosulfuric acid solutions normally contain significant amounts of hydrogen peroxide and thus work here studied the effects of hydrogen peroxide in the system.
