Practical Experiences with Fiberline Optimization in a RMP-Newsprint Mill, 1994 Pulping Conference Proceedings

M. D. Woodworth, D. Lamoureux, R. Tompkins, G. Slater

Fiberline audits of the RMP Pulp Mill and Paper Machine Stock Preparation and Approach System were performed. This data established the basis for optimization of the Fiberlines.

The mills goal was to increase the long fiber count, decrease shives and improve the strength characteristics of the RMP so that the percentage of purchased pulp for the Paper Machine could be reduced.

Training seminars for refining, screening and cleaning training seminars were held with operations. These refresher courses increased operations awareness of the complete Fiberline and was a forum for discussion of problem solving.
