Peroxo Compounds in TCF Bleaching, 1994 Pulping Conference Proceedings

A study was carried out to optimize the effects of peroxo compounds in the TCF bleaching of oxygen predelignified Scandinavian softwood kraft pulp of kappa No.10. The sequences used were Caro Q P, PAAe Q P, PAAd Q P and the results obtained were compared to those achieved when bleaching with ozone in a Q P A P sequence. The comparisons with ozone revealed the bleachings with PAAe and PAAd to be more selective. Furthermore, the effluents from bleaching using PAAd were found to be more suitable for recirculation.
