The Ozone Generation and Handling Task Group (CA 940606.13) requests a roundtable session be set aside for presentation and discussion of the developments and issues associated with the generation and safe handling of ozone. This is a timely topic as ozone bleaching has become a viable emerging technology for bleaching pulp, replacing chlorine containing compounds which have come under increasing environmental scrutiny over the past five years. Since the generation of ozone is a highly proprietary process, much of the presentation will be done by equipment vendors. To prevent the commercialization of this event, we propose to limit each panelist to a specific topic that the task group has deemed to be of significant interest. This type of format will also eliminate the repetitive introduction of information among presenters since each has a specific topic. Four to five panelists will be allotted 10- 15 minutes each to present his topic to the audience. At the conclusion of the presentations the session would be opened to the floor for questions and discussion with all the panelists. It is the intent of the task group to have at least one panelist from a mill speaking on his operating experiences with ozone generation. Following is a list of topics to be discussed by the panelists:
