Emerging Technologies in TCF Bleaching, 1995 Pulping Conference Proceedings

J. Basta, L. Holtinger, P. Lundgren, C. Persson

Eka Nobel

This presentation summarizes a study of two emerging technologies in TCF bleaching of Scandinavian softwood kraft pulp and takes a look at ongoing mill experience in which (PO) and PAA sequences have been implemented. Whereas the (PO) stage was mainly evaluated in the laboratory, all the PAA results are from actual mill trials. These two technologies were found to be compatible and when used in combination, pulps of high final brightness and acceptable viscosity could be produced in the mill.
