Oxidative extraction of bleaching with peroxide provides many options for a mill. This paper presents the mill scale experience in bleaching of tropical hardwoods and bamboo pulp using C(EP)(H/H)H sequence i.e., retrofitting with oxidative extraction using peroxide. The benefits derived include -higher brightness and whiteness without any adverse effect on a b o u t final pulp strength properties; reduction in alkali back water colour. The overall chlorine consumption come down by about 9% while the alkali consumption is increased by about 8.5%. The better quality pulp facilitated to improve the final paper quality as well as introduction of value added products. These findings indicate that twin improving the objects of final product quality and reducing the bleach plant effluent colour can be achieved without intensive investment. capital...
