Economic Analysis of Brown Stock Washing Systems, 1997 Pulping Conference Proceedings
When planning the design for a new brown stock washing system, there are many economic factors to consider. Some of these factors include the number of washing stages to include and the type of washers to use. Other factors affecting the economics of brown stock washing include setting the vat consistency targets and the amount of defoamer to be used. This presentation, however, will focus on the economic impacts that brown stock washing imposes on other areas of the mill. Most of the discussion will refer to a multistage vacuum drum washing line, although the principles discussed are applicable to other washing methods as well.
