CANSOLV System Recycling of Sulfur Pulping Chemicals Reduces Emissions and Cost, 1999 Pulping Conference Proceedings

Cansolv Technologies Inc.

Sulfur chemicals, and sulfur dioxide (SO2 ) in particular, are widely used in pulp mills: in pulping, bleaching, souring and ClO2 manufacture. As the industry moves toward the closed mill, maximum recovery and recycle of pulping chemicals becomes mandatory. The CANSOLVâ System 1 regenerable SO2 scrubbing process is a new tool that can be used to achieve minimum sulfur losses and chemical balance in the various pulping processes such as kraft, NSSC, SCMP and sulfite. In addition to reducing mill emissions, the recovery and recycling of process chemicals will improve mill profitability and operability.
