Latest Development on Waste Paper Handling (Bales and Loose) in Paper Mills, 2001 Pulping Conference Proceedings
E. R. Treiblmeier--The general tendency to automate all process steps dominates the paper making industry. Automation degrees which are taken for granted in the paper production are now possible also at the front end of the mill, at the waste paper preparation.
The latest development on waste paper handling has been focussing on fully automatic systems in order to reduce operating and labour cost and to increase product quality and labour safety. The systems are designed to receive waste paper, loose and/or bales and contain all equipment for automatic operation from the receiving conveyor up to the pulper infeed. Such systems require a number of dedicated machines, all of them of heavy duty design and reliable for 24-hour operation.
The systems need to be customized to the various requirements of the different treatment processes for waste paper, lay out requirements and delivery and storage philosophies.
