United States Postal Service Efforts to Develop an Environmentally Benign Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive for Postage Stamp Applications, 2000 Recycling Symposium Proceedings

Joseph Y. Peng--The technology outlined in this paper shows the design of pressure-sensitive adhesives that meet stringent adhesive performance requirements, yet can easily be removed during early stages of a waste paper recycling process. This results in the reduction or elimination of stickies contaminants, improvement in recycling of waste paper streams and the resultant paper product, and reduction of landfill paper solid waste.
