New Deinking System Combines GSC Contacting With Tower Flotation Technology

Ahlstrom Kamyr Inc. has developed a new deinking system that utilizes modified GSC ® contactors primarily for bubble formation and contaminant contacting. The accepted slurry from the aerator is fed to a separation tower for efficient par-ticle removal. Pilot testing on two different scales has been performed with newsprint and various types of office waste furnishes. High particle and ash removal efficiencies are realized with a minimal impact on long fibre (>.2 [mm]) yield.
