A New Deinking System for Producing High Quality Pulp for Tissue

Cartiera Lucchese has successfully started up a new 200 T/D deinking system to produce pulp for their new tissue machine. The plant was designed to use a 100% woodfree magazine furnish to produce a pulp of 80 brightness without bleaching.

Pilot plant work was done to determine the necessary equipment and the order of the equipment train to meet the final pulp requirements. The mill started up in November, 1995. This paper reviews both the pilot plant results, and the operating results of the actual operation.
