Contaminants in the Recycling Process II: Stickies Panel Discussion, 1997 Recycling Symposium Proceedings

Of the various contaminants which interfere with the processes for recycling paper, stickies have been the most generally troublesome for several years. This year’s Contaminants panel discussion will focus exclusively on stickies. The panelists range from those involved in university and industrial research on stickies, to others with extensive mill experience in overcoming this difficult problem. The formal presentations will highlight current research on the anatomy of stickies, approaches to less-troublesome adhesives, mill experiences and operational approaches to minimizing the problems caused by stickies.
