Minas Basin Boosts Production, 1997 Recycling Symposium Proceedings

In February 1996, a system to recycle old corrugated containers was started up at Minas Basin Pulp and Power located in Hantsport, Nova Scotia. This system was supplied by Fiberprep, Inc. and includes a pulper, Double Separator, Gyroclean, slotted screen, Diabolofiner, and 1 stage of forward cleaning. The system:

- Is simple to operate
- Has minimal useable fiber loss
- Has an extremely low space requirement
- Has a lower installation cost than a conventional system
- Provides a superior quality top sheet with no dispersion and is virgin kraft-like in appearance.
