Effect of Fines of Thermomechanical Pulp on Sheet Surface Properties During Recycling, 1998 Recycling Symposium Proceedings

Influence of fines on surface properties of paper made from thermomechanical pulp is investigated during recycling. It is found that the smoothness decreases as the number of recycling levels increases. A correlation between the loss of fines and a decrease in smoothness is clearly observed.
