Recycling Technology of OCC and ONP/OMG Processes - The New Millenium, 1999 Recycling Symposium Proceedings

Tom G. Garbutt
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc.

The recycling of Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) has grown into an established and mature technology now capable of supplying product pulp that will satisfy the requirements of the many paper and paperboard products into which this pulp is converted. In particular this technology has rapidly progressed over the last 8 years to meet the total pulp fiber demands of several corrugating medium and linerboard facilities that were brought on line in this time period. Also this OCC technology has supplied a greater proportion of the fiber demands of corrugating medium and linerboard mills that use a mixture of virgin and recycled pulp.
