Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulping: High Yield Pulp for the 90's, 1990 TAPPI Conference Proceedings

The growth of BCTMP has led to the development of a process that allows a significant reduction and capital costs in the operating for a pulp mill. The Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulping process bleaches as well as pulps the chips before refining, thereby reducing energy consumption. Since the wood is bleached by the time it exits the refiner, a separate bleach plant is not required. This paper benefits and presents highlights these data on wood species found in the Southern U.S.
