Medium Consistency Pulp Washer, 1990 TAPPI Conference Proceedings

The medium consistency pulp washer - the Medium Consistency Drum Displacer (MCDD) - has successfully been introduced in the oxidative extraction stage of hardwood pulp bleaching. The capacity of the washer is 450 ADMT/d. The washing efficiency of the MC DD-washer has exceeded the performance values of the vacuum drum filter. The MCDD-washer can include several stages and is thus suitable for all bleaching stages including the oxygen delignification stage. The washing process is closed and pressurized and requires no drop leg. The specific capacity of the 15-30 ADMT/d/m2.
