New Concept in Overthick Chip Screening, 1990 TAPPI Conference Proceedings

The importance of chip thickness in pulping efficiency has long been established (1,2). Various chip screening systems have been devised, generally using some form of size grading (i.e. gyratory screens) or disc thickness separation. Most thickness screening systems have previously utilized some form of disc screen. Recently however, a new roll screen technology has been developed to selectively remove overthick material from the chip furnish.
