Protective Coatings and Linings to Prevent Corrosion of Internal and External Surfaces of Storage Tanks, 1990 Engineering Conference Proceedings
There are numerous chemicals and conditions encount-ered in storage tanks in the Kraft mill. Of primary concern are black, green and white liquor tanks, as well as green and white. liquor clarifiers. Also of concern are brown stock, bleach washer filtrate tanks and washer vats. ’The selection of an appro-priate liner is difficult and can be costly if con-sideration to details is not of primary concern. Just as there is no "universal" stainless alloy resistant to all chemicals, there is no "universal" liner either. Therefore, it is important that we consider the following steps in order to prevent premature failure or added application costs.
-Identification of the conditions.
- Resistance of the liner.
- Application limitations of the liner.
- Cost of the liner.
