Engineering and Design of Paper Machine Dryers from Guidelines for Steam Heated Paper Machine Dryers, 1992 Engineering Conference Proceedings
The function of Paper Machine Dryers in the paper making process is familiar to paper mill personnel. The actual design and construction details however, are not as well known and are important to mill personnel in evaluating the safety of the dryer section.
The governing design rules for the manufacture of dryers, the sizes, types of construction, and the differences in design between A.S.M.E. Coded and Non-A.S.M.E. Coded dryers and the significance of these in dryer safety are reviewed.
Also reviewed are the records that should be collected and maintained as well as suggested purchasing requirements in the ordering of dryers.
