Paper Machine Clothing Issues for Recycled Fiber Usage, 1992 Engineering Conference Proceedings
Keeping machine clothing free of contaminants is one of the most critical aspects of producing 100 % recycled content newsprint at Garden State Paper, Garfield, NJ. Efforts for clean clothing begin with the proper furnish. Contaminants containing any non-water soluble adhesives must be avoided. The printing process used on the furnish must match your deinking system. At Garfield we are designed to handle only old newspapers.
Contaminant removal equipment used at Garfield includes 0.008" slotted screens for stickie removal. Paper machine centrifugal cleaner reject rates are optimized for best ink removal. White water chests are overflowed to purge the wet end of ink collected in the white water foam.
