Quality for Mill Projects - The Standardized Project Process, 1992 Engineering Conference Proceedings

This is a process for developing a standardized project management system that is structured to assist the engineer on Mill Projects. While much of this applies to any type (or size) of project, some of the information does pertain only to mill projects and their unique problems. Each mill, when developing this process, should tailor it to it’s own operating procedures and organization.

The concept utilized in developing this project management process divides projects into five phases: feasibility, scoping, planning, implementation, and operation. In addition, checklists are strongly emphasized for each of the five project phases to help the engineer with the management of the project. Checklists are intended to be used throughout the project, with the engineer developing and using the checklists for each project phase.
