High Consistency or Medium Consistency Ozone Bleaching - Who Has the Answer?, 1993 Engineering Conference Proceedings
The use of ozone to replace chlorine containing compounds in the first stage bleaching of oxygen delignified softwood kraft pulp is now a commercial reality. The capital cost and operating cost difference between ozone bleaching systems designed for operation at greater than 30 percent (high) consistency versus 10-12 percent (medium) consistency are examined and the merits of each system are presented Operating costs in each case are based on using commercially proven ozone gas systems.
