State of the Art Biomass CFB Designs for High Availability and Reliability, 1994 Engineering Conference Proceedings

The CFB boiler offering has proven to be a viable technology by demonstrating high boiler availabilities and equipment reliability over a vast product range size in the past several years. Among the operating ABB CE CFBs are four which fire 100% biomass fuels and several others which fire low quality waste fuels including sludges. It is the intent of this paper to expand on this operating experience, to focus on this biomass and waste fuel firing experience, and to relate it to the concerns and needs (reliability, availability, fuel handling, etc.) of those in the pulp and paper industry.
