Trowelled Monolithic Resin Linings - Cost-Effective Corrosion Protection for Metallic and Non-Metallic Substrates, 1994 Engineering Conference Proceedings

D. C. Bennett, E. J. Wolf

Process-side corrosion of carbon steel and concrete tanks and process vessels is a constant and growing problem in the pulp and paper industry as mills change the process streams in many parts of the mills. Corrosion protection is often sought by installing linings in this equipment. The most common linings are stainless steel sheets of inorganic (tile or brick) systems. However, these linings often have poor cost-effectiveness, especially since they are costly to install and present significant problems with inspection and maintenance.
