Development of Advanced Paper Machine Lubricant, 1996 Engineering Conference Proceedings

Exxon

New and upgraded paper machines are requiring lubricants which are thermally and oxidatively stable and capable of keeping the paper machine parts free of deposits, while simultaneously offering antiwear and extreme pressure (EP) performance characteristics normally provided by EP gear oils. A new lubricant was developed and evaluated. It was demonstrated to provide all the desired performance characteristics, and to be superior in many respects to conventional paper machine oils and gear oils.
