Recovery Boil Circulation Analysis, 1997 Engineering Conference Proceedings

Adequate water circulation is needed to maintain the temperature of boiler water walls below critical levels. this is particularly important for recovery boilers since the overheating and failure of a furnace walll or screen tube could critically expose the boiler to a smelt water explosion. There are fundamental critertia that can be used to determine the potential for tube overheating. These crioteria can be applied using circulation calculations and flow measurements to identify potential problem ares.
