Rotary Debarking: Better Utilization of Available Furnish, 1997 Engineering Conference Proceedings
North American pulp and paper producers continue to face increasing challenges. Global competition, longer and deeper recessions, stricter government guidelines, and myriad other factors will not permit technical complacency. Central to all producers is the requirement to debark their raw material, yet the traditional methods of debarking have changed very little in many years. In order to succeed, producers must investigate and utilize the most efficient debarking methods available to them. In the debarking process, rotary technology can offer significant improvements in the areas of recovery, frozen and dry debarking, processing crooked and swept shapes, mixed diameters , and multiple species, while providing low maintenance and operating costs.
