M. N. Otani--Trim removal systems are often overlooked in the process of rebuilding winders in the paper
and paper converting industry. Trim removal system modifications must be considered in
changes made to the winder. Several factors must be taken into account in the design of the new
or rebuilt winder, and one of them is the trim system. Traditional trim systems that were
designed for older machines usually are not able to meet the demands of today’s technology.
An inadequate trim removal system can render expensive winder upgrades of little or no value.
