Simon -- As a consequence of problems with high discharges of organic substances (COD) and total suspended solids (TSS) at Mönsterås Mill in 1996 and 1997, Södra Cell decided to invest in a reconstruction of the existing Aerated Lagoon to a modern Long-term aerated Activated Sludge plant (LAS). The new secondary treatment was taken into operation in the autumn of 1998 and is now running stable with good performance.
