- V. M. King, M. T. Stoner -- Paper machine deposit control has had many solutions during the 50 plus years that products have been available for this purpose. There are many solutions because there are many problems; no paper machine is the same and no solution solves all problems. Deposits are frequently started by an organic conditioning film which can attract either inorganics, other organics, such as pitch, or microorganisms. The final deposit can be almost totally free of organisms, or can be almost exclusively microbiological. It is not surprising then that we need different solutions for each of these problems.
