Fugitive Dust Modeling at a Paper Mill Site, 1990 Environmental Conference Proceedings

At a major paper mill site a TSP monitoring program was being conducted to ascertain compliance with NAAQS. After three years of monitoring and considerable fugitive dust source control measures being added, excesses of TSP were still being recorded.

The authors quantified the remaining fugitive dust sources, traffic, etc., and modeled the data for days on which excesses were measured. The results indicated that the plant was not producing the excesses.

The monitoring program was allowed to terminate when the plant agreed to pave certain roads as a precautionary measure.
