Progressive Upgrade Options for Electrostatic Precipitations, 1990 Environmental Conference Proceedings

A problem facing many electrostatic precipitator users today is how to upgrade equipment performance to ensure compliance with present and proposed emission regulations.

Many equipment upgrade options are available. In order to best understand these options, different upgrades are discussed in detail, The upgrades examined are varied and include the replacement of high voltage controls, rapper and vibrator upgrades, discharge electrode replacement, and rebuilds where a significant portion of the electrostatic precipitator is replaced. The merits of these different approaches, the expectations for performance improvement, and actual test data is discussed.
