Impact of Air Pollution Control Regulations on Printers, 1990 Environmental Conference Proceedings

The inability of certain areas of the country to meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standard has provided the impetus for increased activity at the State and Federal level. Congress, state legislators and regulatory agencies have proposed more stringent regulations and legislation designed to reduce the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from small stationary sources. Offset Lithography, because of the VOC emissions from the process, is a prime example of a small stationary source and therefore has been a target for control by the respective agencies. A review of the impact resulting from the recent regulations and legislation along with some potential control techniques will be provided.
